Wildcat, Wildcat D via Wildcat Ridge Trail 2/7/10

Trail Conditions: Nineteen Mile Brook trail well packed, icy in places. Wildcat Ridge trail mostly packed down with small drifts in places. Couple blowdowns on ridge but not hard to get thru.

Special Equipment Required: Crampons required on Wildcat Ridge trail. Snowshoes for descending the Wildcat Ski slope. Poles useful.

Comments: Started out barebooting Nineteen Mile but soon had to put on crampons due to significant ice in places. Steep ascent of Wildcat requires crampons. One person did use microspikes the whole way. Windy and cold on the ridge. Wished we had picked up a copy of the Wildcat ski trails as it took a long time to hike down on the edge of various trails to the Wildcat parking lot. Started at 8 am, at Wildcat parking at 2:45 pm
